The vision for New Life Functional Neurology & Endocrinology began in the early 1990s when Dr. Hirshorn was a chiropractic patient. His doctor demonstrated a passion that sparked an interest for conservative health care which, although not pursued initially, after many years, eventually became a calling.
Dr. Hirshorn graduated Summa Cum Laude from The College of New Jersey in 2004 with a bachelor of science degree in biology, a minor in chemistry and a certification to teach biological sciences. He taught biology and anatomy & physiology at his alma mater, Deptford Township High School, in Deptford, NJ for five years. During his tenure, he also served as Assistant Director of the Spartan Marching Band and as advisor for several organizations including the National Honor Society, the Student Government and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Although Dr. Hirshorn thoroughly enjoys educating others, he felt God calling him to a new career as a Doctor of Chiropractic, where he could serve others through education and chiropractic care.
Dr. Hirshorn attended Palmer College of Chiropractic, in Davenport, Iowa. As a student he served as Secretary and President of his class as well as Secretary and President of the Campus Guides. In addition to numerous scholarship awards, he was also selected by his peers and a faculty committee as one of two students from his class to be honored as members of the prestigious Vogt Leadership Society. As part of his clinical training, Dr. Hirshorn participating in a chiropractic mission trip to Manaus, Brazil and completed an internship at Beckwith Chiropractic Neurology in Moline, IL. Dr. Hirshorn graduated Summa Cum Laude from Palmer College with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree as Valedictorian of his class. To view his valedictory address, click here.
Dr. Hirshorn has completed extensive post-doctoral training and is a Board-Certified Chiropractic Neurologist and practitioner of functional medicine. These two specialty areas provide a unique practice paradigm that helps patients with chronic conditions get better results with their care.
Dr. Elliot Hirshorn is married to his beautiful bride, Dr. Karla Hirshorn, who serves as a family physician at Laurens Family Practice in Laurens, SC. In free time, he enjoys spending time with family & friends, hiking, running, traveling, and serving at Hope Chapel in Greer, SC.
Dr. Hirshorn receives his diploma from Dr. Dennis Marchiori, chancellor of Palmer College of Chiropractic.
